Homemade Laundry Soap

Trying to find ways to reduce the toxins in your environment or just looking to save some money? Here's a great idea - make your own laundry soap. It's cost effective and you know what's in it (all-natural)! It can also be used as an all-purpose cleaner for the kitchen, bathroom.....

You will need a 20 litre/liter (5 gallon) bucket.

Heat 2 litres (1/2 gallon) of water in a saucepan, when it comes to a boil add 1/2 cup grated soap. Stir to dissolve.

Turn off heat, add 1 cup soda washing crystals and stir until mixed. Add 1 cup white vinegar, 1 tablespoon eucalyptus oil and a few drops of essential oil (I used tea tree). Stir well.

Fill the bucket with half full with hot water. Add the soap mixture. Stir well. Fill the rest of the bucket with cold water, stir again.

Let cool and give one more stir.

Use 1 cup for a small load of laundry or 2 cups for a large load. Use only a small amount for general cleaning.
