Having afternoon tea and thinking about "A Mind Of Your Own" now that I have finished reading it......
Kelly Began says, "...honoring our co-evolution with the natural world and sending the body a signal of safety through movement, diet, meditation and environmental detoxification represents our most primal and our most powerful tool for healing."
What does this mean really?
It means caring enough for yourself that you make time and space in your life to nourish yourself.....nourish your body, your mind, your spirit; not because it's some new fad, but because you cherish yourself enough to invest your time, effort and money in your Self.
You could invest your time, effort and money into other things, but would you get as much return for that? I don't think so. Investing in your Self will be the best thing you ever do for yourself.
Investing in your health means nurturing your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects as Dr. Brogan mentions in the passage above. This a life-long journey, not a quick, easy path.
